As CFO, Sean oversees and manages the financial operations, strategies, projections, analysis, and reporting, supporting Smarty's long-term revenue, gross margin and profitability maximization objectives. Sean comes to Smarty with over 25 years' of experience in finance and accounting, with close to half of that working for SaaS companies. He started his career working with PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and then specialized in the technology industry. Prior to Smarty Sean worked for various companies, including TestOut Corporation, Prosper Learning, Certiport, Inc. SonicWall, Inc. and Novell, Inc. where his responsibilities ranged from domestic and international taxation, financial planning and analysis and controller to overseeing Legal, HR and IT. Understanding the value of technology and automation, Sean completed various IT certifications while at Novell and the IC3 and Excel certifications at Certiport. Sean is a certified public accountant and graduated from Brigham Young University with a Master of Accountancy in acknowledgement of major achievement in tax.
