Derek has always thrived in that space where technology, data, and experience intersect, whether by leading client strategy for a marketing research organization, or helping build a Fintech from startup to unicorn status. At Smarty, he gets to work alongside some of the most brilliant (and fun) people around to drive incredible value for our customers. In his spare time, he also loves exploring the beauty of the nearby mountains with his family, coaching youth sports, playing pickup basketball, VR gaming, and taking on home improvement projects.
