What's the hiring process like?

At Smarty, applying is refreshingly simple.

We won’t make you upload a résumé and retype it into a form. (We agree—ew.)

We also don’t ghost candidates. Ever.

Our interview process is friendly, efficient, and unmistakably human. We don’t employ bots; we employ humans. Smarty is full of real people who care about finding the right fit.

We value our candidates and the time they take to express interest in joining the team—putting care into the interview process to make each step intentional with regular updates (even if that update is that we don’t see a fit for you at Smarty). We hope to see your application soon!

Apply	A human reviews your application. We’re humans hiring humans. No bots here.
Take a call (initial interview)	If it seems like there’s a potential fit, we’ll call you for an initial interview via phone.
Meet the peeps!	We’ll open the front door for an in-person interview. Depending on the position you applied for, there may be 1-3 interviews to get jazzed about. You can even ride the slide while you’re here!
Look for an email	If we believe you’re a good match, we’ll send you an official offer letter to sign and schedule a start date for your employment.
