Freda Shi is a software engineer on Smarty's backend engineering products team and a fourth-year computer science and applied math student at the University of Utah. She is passionate about building elegant applications of any kind through code. Before Smarty, Freda was a research assistant at the University of Utah, where she worked on graph problems motivated by network fairness. She was also a teaching assistant for various computer science and math classes at the U, providing her with a strong foundation in technical communication. Freda is energized by complex challenges, continuous learning, and the craft of writing clean, reliable code.
