<p>We’ve said it once, and we’ll say it a zillion more times—nobody puts the “care” in Caroline as Ms. Roweton does! Often referred to as the chill vibes chick around the office, Caroline has a calming presence (unless she’s pulling some seriously rad pranks like stealing Randy Buttons in the dark of night and holding him hostage for days). </p><p>As an Associate Product Manager, Caroline is responsible for researching and defining Smarty’s international products. She also performs competitive research, communicates with customers, gathers and prioritizes feature requests from them, supports sales through custom deals and pricing, and is pretty much just a superhero.

<p>We recently brought together Kent Gividen and Bryan Amundson, two of Smarty's brilliant lead developers, to discuss the importance of maintaining a clean address database and how Smarty's innovative tools can make this process easier and more efficient. </p><h3><strong>Question:</strong> "How should users prepare their address data before using Smarty's tools?"</h3><blockquote><p><i><strong>Kent:</strong> "To begin with, if you have a database that you're looking to clean the addresses for, you can dump those addresses into a CSV file.

<p>We had a sit-down with Smarty crew members, Caroline Roweton, Associate Product Manager, and Landon Fackrell, Software Engineer, and delved into Smarty's innovative new <a href="/articles/batch-address-validation-geocoding-excel">Excel plugin</a>. </p><p>This powerful tool makes address validation easier than ever, allowing users to clean and verify their address data directly within Excel. <p>A recent defective update from CrowdStrike, a leading cybersecurity provider, caused a global outage affecting millions of Windows systems. Oops. The faulty update to CrowdStrike's Falcon software, intended for endpoint detection and response, led to the infamous "blue screen of death" (BSOD) and rendered many systems non-bootable. The widespread disruption primarily impacted large organizations reliant on CrowdStrike's services, sparing home PCs and systems running on Mac and Linux. </p><p>Like the rest of the world, Smarty employees were also impacted.
